#1 Why Your Career May Not Feel Like You Expected
π THIS WEEK'S LIFE NOTE
βReflection is one of the most underused yet powerful tools for success.β

Happy Tuesday friend!
Every now and then, I like to make time to stop, think and assess my progress towards my goals. This is a great opportunity - not to judge myself, but to adjust my intentions, update my system and stay committed to myself.
Truth isβ¦ there's one thing I've been putting off for a long time. π«£
You know what I'm talking about β¦ you probably have yours too π
That thing on your to-do list that never gets struck-through. Day after day. Month after month.
Wellβ¦ Last week, I got a kick in the π
The universe decided to wake me up!
According to Gallup's annual State of the Global Workplace 2025 report, only 33% of people thrive at work! π³ I don't know about you, but such numbers make me cringe!
Having my life centered around my work and career, I believe that work should be fun, challenging, and rewarding. A place to thrive, grow and make an impact - however big or small.
That's why in January 2025, I had decided to start a newsletter.
A newsletter to help fellow career-minded professionals in Tech to design a career they love, and feel proud of. π
An ambition I've been sitting on for 4 months now! Gallup reminded me I could have been helping 67% of professionals to design a healthier, happier career for all that time.
So here we are friends.
No more excuses! Done is better than perfect. β
Enough about me.
Let's look at YOUR CAREER, your next (small) step to the NEXT LEVEL!
Let's do this β‘οΈ
PS: I hope this edition is your kick in the π to do one thing for yourself π

Why Your Career May Not Feel Like You Expected
We spend a third of our lives working. Another third catching Zzz's. Leaving the remaining chunk trying to squeeze in all the good stuff, living the life we want.
What if you could double down on that βgood stuffβ time? π€©
Imagine a career path designed to amplify your life, in sync with your ambitions and other seasonal interests!
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a career is defined as βthe job or series of jobs that you do during your working life, especially if you continue to get better jobs and earn more money.β
What if you could actively shape that βseries of jobsβ to truly align with what fires you up?
Now friend, let's get real. Do you know what fires you up? Do you have a clear answer to what βbetterβ and βmoreβ mean to you? And Why?
Simply put: what does success mean to you? π€
Is that definition of success truly, deeply yours? Or is it an echo of what society expects, what your parents envisioned, what your friends are chasing, or even what your partner subtly (or not so subtly!) implies?
It took me over 10 years to realize that the career path I was on wasn't truly mine.
I thought I was in control.
I thought I was the one making decision.
But in reality, I was rather on auto-pilot, operating on the guardrails provided by my parents and society. Which - don't get me wrong β¦ wasn't that bad!
Until I met Claire, in January 2022. Claire is a Career Change Coach.
She's the one who asked me for the first time in my life: βAudrey, what do you want to do?β
Today, it's my turn to ask you. What do you want to doβ
3 prompts to get your thoughts flowing
It's called the Odyssey Plan πΊοΈ
1- Default Career Path οΌ
What does your life look like 5 years from now if you continue down your current path?
2- Alternative Career Path β
What does your life look like 5 years from now if you had to take a completely different path?
3- Radical Career Path π¦
What does your life look like 5 years from now if you didn't need to worry about money, or what people would think of you?
These are just starting points. I'd love to hear what sparks for you. β¨
What are some of the biggest challenges you face in designing a career that feels truly you?
Until next time, remember: You've got this! πͺ
I've got you.
